Certification Examinations Preparation Seminars
Seminars are offered locally for those who are planning to take the CSI Certification Exams for Construction Specifiers (CCS), Construction Document Technologists (CDT), Construction Product Representatives (CCPR), or Construction Contract Administrators (CCCA). The seminars are also valuable for the Architectural or Engineering State Licensing Exams.
The seminars are especially designed to help Architects, Engineers, Design Professional Interns, General Contractors, Subcontractors, Construction Superintendents, Material Manufacturers & Suppliers, Cost Estimators, Purchasing Agents, their Clerical Staffs, and Students.
AIA Members, who complete the courses, will receive the following Learning Units, which will be reported directly to AIA/CES. Others will receive a Certificate of Attendance:
- Construction Contract Documents Course: 20 Units
- Construction Contract Administration Course: 18 Units

Note: Seminars and Certification Examinations are two distinct processes, each requiring a separate registration. Certification registration information follows below.
Certification Exam Registration Deadline
Those taking CSI Certification Exams should register with the Institute no later than FRIDAY DECEMBER 1 (Fees increase after Dec 1:)
- Construction Document Technologist (CDT)
- Certified Construction Specifier (CCS)
- Certified Construction Technologist (CCPR)
- Certified Construction Technologist (CCPA)

Exam Fees
Examinations will be held on Saturday March 31, 2007 at the Eugene Builders' Exchange. Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Additional information is available from Paul Edlund at (541) 485-1941.

Exam Locations
- Local: Certification Examinations will be held at the Eugene Builders' Exchange on Saturday, March 31, 2007. This is at 2460 West 11th.Eugene, OR 97402 . The Exchange is located behind the American Tire Company on West 11th; both are also near the Elks Lodge.
- National: Other exam locations can be found at the National CSI web site.
Prerequisites

Candidates must have achieved their CDT, have five (5) years experience in a construction design discipline, and submit two (2) reference letters. |
| CCPR exam |
Candidates must have achieved their CDT, have two years experience in the representation of construction products, and submit a reference letter. |
| CCCA exam |
Candidates must have achieved their CDT. A minimum of 2 years experience in contract administration is strongly encouraged. |
Format/Study Aids/Exam Test Materials
All exams are multiple choice. The CDT has 100 multiple-choice questions. The CCS, CCCA, and CCPR exams have 200 multiple-choice questions.
Every applicant will receive a study guide from the Institute. The study guide is to be used as a companion to the specific modules in the Project Resource Manual, recent amendments,appendices and related documents.

Taking Multiple Exams
For Institute exams, you may not take the CDT concurrently with the CSS, CCCA, or the CCPR exam on the same day. All exams start at 9:00 AM. The CDT Exam terminates at 11:00 AM, and the others terminate at 1:00 PM.
Cancellation/Deferral Policy
Application fees are nonrefundable. Requests for Exam Site Changes or Deferrals, to the CSI annual convention or next national exam date, must be submitted to the Institute in writing at least 14 calendar days prior to the exam.
Transferral Policy
Request for Transfer of Exam Fees from a registered candidate to another applicant must be submitted to the Institute in writing. Note: The request for transfer of exam fees must be accompanied by the new application, additional fees if applicable, and a letter from the current candidate relinquishing his or her applications fees and right to sit for the exam. All materials must be submitted together prior to the final registration deadline.
Exam Results
Exam results are mailed directly to candidates approximately eight weeks after the examination. Results are NOT given over the phone under any circumstances.
Certification Renewal
Certification (i.e., CCS, CCCA, and CCPR) is valid for three (3) years. In the early spring of your renewal year, the Institute will send you an Application for Certification Renewal. You will be asked to attest to the fact that you have met the continuing education requirements and submit the renewal fee.
