Membership Eligibility

Architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, material suppliers, their employees, and other members of the construction industry, including building owners, public officials, attorneys, insurance counselors educators, and students.

To encourage personal input into CSI programs, only individuals may become members of CSI. Businesses, firms, and agencies, as such, are not eligible for membership.

Membership applications are available at any Chapter meeting, from the Chapter Membership Chair, Ellen Swets at 485-4253, and by clicking here to request one by email. Or, you can click here to fill out a Membership Application at the National CSI website.

Membership Classifications
ProfessionalThose who write and enforce specifications.
IndustryThose who execute specification.
AssociateThose who neither write, enforce, nor execute specifications.
IntermediateThose who lack the technical qualifications or experience to qualify for Professional, Industry, or Associate membership.
StudentThose who are full-time students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a construction industry curriculum.
RetiredThose who are no longer engaged in income-producing activities, have reached 65 years of age, and have been a member in good standing for at least the five past consecutive years.
EmeritusThose who have reached at least 70 years of age, and have been a member in good standing for at least the past 15 consecutive years.
HonoraryThose who have performed distinguished services to the construction industry, and have been so named by the Institute Board of Directors.
